24 March: EPP leaders to meet for Summit in Meise (Brussels) ahead of European Council (EN+FR)

EU and non-EU heads of state and government and opposition leaders of the European People's Party (EPP), along with the Presidents of the European Council, European Commission and the European Parliament - Herman VAN ROMPUY, Jose Manuel BAROSSO and Jerzy BUZEK - have been invited to participate in the upcoming Summit of the Party, which will take place in Meise, Brussels, on 24 March 2011. On the agenda will be the preparation of the European Council, scheduled for 24 and 25 March.

EPP President Wilfried MARTENS, will host the EPP Summit. EPP Secretary General Antonio LÓPEZ-ISTÚRIZ and the members of the EPP Presidency will also attend.

The EPP currently has 15 out the 27 members in the European Council: Viktor ORBÁN (Hungary – EU Council Presidency), Nicolas SARKOZY (France), Angela MERKEL (Germany), Jean-Claude JUNCKER (Luxembourg), Traian BĂSESCU (Romania), Fredrik REINFELDT (Sweden), Yves LETERME (Belgium), Enda KENNY (Ireland), Donald TUSK (Poland), Silvio BERLUSCONI (Italy), Valdis DOMBROVSKIS (Latvia), Boyko BORISOV (Bulgaria), Lawrence GONZI (Malta), Andrius KUBILIUS (Lithuania), and Iveta RADIČOVÁ (Slovakia).
